How to send postal mail at internet speed!

The internet has had a huge impact on the way we all work, and more specifically, email.  Communicating with others is now very easy, and almost instant.  Not only that, but it doesn't even require us to get out of our chair.  What if good old snail mail was that easy?

There is no doubt that we like to see instant results from everything we do... we're a generation that requires instant gratification.  As sending letters often requires quite a lot of effort, and takes days, it is something most of us avoid wherever possible.

That being the case, sending post is still an essential part of communicating, and is often the best way to follow up with your customers and suppliers.  It is considered more professional to send a follow up letter, than to just fire out a quick email - quite simply because people know it required more effort and is more formal.

bing your post in a few clicks!

bing is a completely new way of posting letters, right from your desktop.  It is brand new technology created right here in Australia!  Let me show you what the internet has done for postal mail...

Step 1: Create your letter

This part is the same as always (no, sorry, it doesn't type your letter for you!).  You can create your letter in any program you like (word processor, crm application, accounting package etc.).  Also, it doesn't matter if your letter is a single one page letter, or if it is a mail merge document containing 10,000 pages, with letters of varying lengths.  The key thing to remember however, is that you should create a "print ready" document  - one that you would normally then print and post.

Step 2: Select File/Print/bing

Once your document is ready to print, select from the top menu, file/print and then instead of selecting your normal printer, you select the bing mail room (the bing application is a print driver!).  This will then launch the bing preview screen.

Step 3: Preview and select your options

The bing preview screen firstly asks you to drag a rectangle over the address on your letter.  Once you've done this, bing will sort your letters and list them individually by recipient, address and number of pages.  Then you select a number of options for your mail:

  • select your letterhead paper (if any);
  • choose if you want to use black & white, full colour or only first page colour; and
  • select any attachments or inserts you'd like in your letter.

Step 4: bing your mail!

Finally, just enter a cost code or reference and click submit.  That's it, your mail is printed, folded, enveloped, stamped and posted with Australia Post!

What happens next?

Once you've submitted your mail to the mail room, it is normally posted with Australia Post the same day and delivered overnight anywhere in Australia!  If you submit your mail very late in the day however, it may take two days for delivery.

Postal Mail... Internet Speed

As you can see, bing is the email equivalent to postal mail.  It takes all the pain out of sending post - never again will you need to fold and envelope letters!

Client Testimonial

"I decided to try fax marketing for the first time and have been extremely impressed.  I sent out approximately 2000 faxes to my target market, and have secured $14,000 worth of contracts as a result - we are now sending regular faxes to market our services as the results have been the best when compared with mailing and advertising - not to mention the cost effectiveness of faxing and the reporting"

Newsflash

Australia Post recently applied to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission to increase the cost of standard stamps to 55c from 50c. The ACCC approved this request, and as of September 15th 2008, we're all going to be paying more for standard postage.

If this comes as bad news to your company, then I highly recommend that you talk to us about using bing!  On average, our customers save a massive 42% on their mailing costs through the use of our on-demand mailing service.

With no lock-in contracts, no minmum volume requirements, no monthly/yearly fees, you've really got nothing to lose.
