Red Bull Air Race Perth Challenge

RBAR Viral Marketing CampaignEventscorp (part of Tourism Western Australia) approached Digital Dialogue to run an online promotion for the 2010 Red Bull Air Race in Perth, Australia. As one of the biggest events on the yearly calendar for Perth, the race attracts in excess of 300,000 spectators on Perth’s foreshore as well as worldwide TV and media coverage.

Eventscorp wanted to increase the awareness of the event online, as well as use the promotion to build their subscriber database of people interested in Western Australian events.

Digital Dialogue conceived the “Perth Challenge”, a promotion where the lucky winner would get to race their best mate in the Red Bull Air Race planes. To enter the competition each person had to nominate the person they’d like to challenge. The nominee had to accept the challenge and then the pair were in the draw to win. Entrants could enter an unlimited number of times to win this amazing prize, the only condition being that they select a unique friend each time.

The campaign was promoted to the existing Eventscorp and Tourism Western Australia databases, as well as online via banner advertismeents and on Virgin Blue in-flight TV. The promotion attracted in excess of 100,000 visitors and entrants!
