Do you have people on your subscriber list who seem dead? No matter how good the campaign you send, you still get no response. They don't bounce, they don't open and they certainly don't click any links! Maybe they did once, but if they've not show any signs of life in ages, then you need to figure out what to do with them.

You'd be surprised at some of the words that may land your emails in the SPAM box. Here's a list put together by Marketing Sherpa of the top 100 words you should avoid. I'm sure you'll agree there are some surprising ones on there - for example: "online marketing" or "search engine listings"....

There are many metrics to consider when evaluating your email campaigns performance - open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, ROI etc. While open rates are normally the first stat to be reviewed, they aren't necessarily the most important - however, improving your open rates can help improve your other metrics.
